Beschreibung:Without VPs many utterances would turn ungrammatical, unintelligible, and meaningless. In this seminar we will take a closer look at verbs and verb phrases and their meanings and functions. We will revisit many linguistic terms (transitivity, licensing, complements,…), look at different VP-constructions and even trace recent changes in the English verb phrase.
